Classroom Consequences
In the beginning of the year, we come up with our classroom rules as a whole class. By doing so, we know that we are held responsible for all of the rules because we agreed to and made them. After we created the rules, all students signed a classroom contract, which means they agreed to follow all of the rules all year long.
In this class, I as the teacher use natural and logical consequences, meaning the consequences differ based on the actions or behavior. These types of consequences benefit students as they are able to learn from the consequences that go along with their unwanted behavior. These types of consequences also align with the unwanted or unwarranted behavior and are sensible for the actions of the child. Students will always know why they are being disciplined, and will hopefully learn from their mistakes and not let them reoccur!
