Bricks on CofC Campus- PBL

When we were assigned to go on a “problem-finding walk” around the College of Charleston campus, I immediately thought of a problem on campus off the top of my head. The problem is the bricks on campus. I immediately thought of this problem because it is something I deal with daily! I can’t tell you how many times I have tripped walking to classes and actually fallen or almost fallen. I then think to myself, well if I am having this problem, then how must it be for a person with a disability of some sort? The SDG, or sustainable development goal, that I aligned this problem with is goal #10, reduced inequalities. To introduce this to my students, I could use these resources

These resources will allow my students to get a further understanding of the goal and why it is important. I will align this goal with the bricks on campus. The uneven bricks allow only limited accessibility. As a campus that prides itself on equality and inclusion, we need to ensure that we truly are in every aspect.
