I walked around downtown Charleston and captured some images that show examples of text.

Before this class, when I heard the word "text", I simply just thought of a structure of words. After talking with my peers and Professor O'Byrne, I've realized that text can be so much more than that. Text can be anything with meaning; an image, sign, gesture, words, the possibilities are endless. For me, text means anything that can be used for the purpose of meaningful communication. For my future classroom, this can look like books, whiteboards, conversations between students, images, etc. In the above pictures, I have images on text that are just words, but the more I look around Charleston, the more I see text all around me.
